Response to Probe 4

I was actually a bit excited to start this assignment creating a table family using parameters. It reminded me a bit of excel in a way, with potentials for formulas and constraints. And if anyone has seen my coffee cup, I do love spreadsheets. Anyhow, the tutorial by Paul Aubin was super helpful. I think I spent the majority of the morning just going through his examples step by step. It made the actual process of setting parameters fairly simple. However, it was then that I realized I didn't save each individual part of the nested family, making certain exploded drawings impossible since there is no "hide" in families, and no sheets in "families" either. Frustration set in. In a very major way. I had been happy with how my table with its nested chairs and place setting looked way earlier in the day, but now it was just getting on my nerves. After much expletives, I backtracked and figured out what I had done wrong. Apparently each individual family needs to be loaded separately into the project in order to hide/view it separately. Bottom line: I can make a family from scratch, but it is probably way easier to modify one that is already created.
